Trekking Day-by-Day Itinerary:
Day 1: Kilimanjaro Arrival – Transfer to Moshi
Upon your arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, our team will welcome you and transport you to Moshi, the city that serves as the gateway to Kilimanjaro. Get settled in your lodging and take some time to unwind and prepare for the upcoming trek. Spend the night in Moshi.
Day 2: Machame Gate to Machame Camp
Commence your journey at Machame Gate, where you will complete the necessary park procedures and meet your experienced mountain guides and porters. The first day of your trek will take you through dense rainforests, which are home to a wide array of plant and animal species. Enjoy the picturesque beauty of the area and reach Machame Camp for a well-deserved rest.
Day 3: Machame Camp to Shira Camp
Continue your climb, leaving the rainforest behind as you enter the heather and moorland zone. Experience the evolving landscapes and awe-inspiring views as you make your way to Shira Camp, positioned at an altitude of 3,840 meters (12,600 feet).
Day 4: Shira Camp to Barranco Camp via Lava Tower
Today’s trek introduces you to the alpine desert and the impressive Lava Tower. Ascend to an altitude of 4,630 meters (15,190 feet) before descending to Barranco Camp, which is situated at 3,950 meters (12,960 feet). Enjoy the stunning vistas along the route and settle into the camp for the night.
Day 5: Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp
Embark on a challenging day of trekking as you conquer the Barranco Wall, a steep climb that involves some scrambling. Take in panoramic views from the summit and continue on to Karanga Camp, perched on a rocky ridge.
Day 6: Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp
Arrive at Barafu Camp, the last camp before your summit attempt, situated at 4,680 meters (15,350 feet). The rugged terrain and high altitude set the stage for your ultimate challenge. Mentally and physically prepare yourself for the upcoming day.
Day 7: Summit Day – Barafu Camp to Uhuru Peak and Descend to Mweka Camp
Begin your summit push in the early morning hours under the starry sky. Ascend through freezing temperatures and darkness toward Uhuru Peak, Kilimanjaro’s highest point at 5,895 meters (19,341 feet). Reach the summit at sunrise and savor the breathtaking views. Descend to Mweka Camp, located at 3,100 meters (10,170 feet), for your final night on the mountain.
Day 8: Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate – Return to Kilimanjaro International Airport
On your last day, hike down to Mweka Gate, where you will receive your well-earned summit certificates. Bid farewell to Kilimanjaro, and our team will transfer you to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your onward journey.
