7 Days Wildlife Special Safari
Driven in your private 4×4 by your professional safari guide, this private 7-day Tanzania safari offers you the flexibility to travel at your own pace, exactly the way you like it.
Day 1: Villa Maua, Arusha.
Welcome to Tanzania! Arrive to Kilimanjaro International Airport by scheduled flight (not included). You clear customs and immigration formalities and are met in the Arrivals Hall by our driver guide / representative. The rep will assist you to the transfer vehicle for your transfer to the hotel. Overnight at the Villa Maua Arusha.
Day 2: Country Lodge Karatu, Lake Manyara National Park.
Today you’ll be heading out to your first Tanzania national park: the magnificent Lake Manyara. Though one of the smaller national parks in the country, it still packs a punch. Expect to spot herds of elephants slowly trekking across the plains, vast troops of baboons in the thick forest canopy and – if you are lucky! – perhaps even tree-climbing lions.
You’ll spend the day in your private 4×4 safari vehicle with your experienced safari guide leading the way. A mesmerising variety of wildlife can be found around the huge soda lake, including buffalos, warthogs, giraffes, wildebeest, zebras and plenty of pink flamingos. The shallow Hippo Pool is always a highlight and offers excellent opportunities for hippo sightings as well as spectacular views of the Rift Valley Escarpment.
Lake Manyara in Tanzania isn’t just about epic game drives, however. Combine a full day of safari adventure with various activities from Mto wa Mbu village cultural tours to canopy walks and more!
After game viewing, drive to Country Lodge Karatu around sunset and enjoy a delicious meal al fresco, listening to the quiet hum of the wilderness.
Day 3: Tanzania Bush Camps Central Serengeti, Seronera.
Today you will continue your African safari experience to one of the country’s biggest draws: the Serengeti National Park. The endless plains and abundance of wildlife that call the Serengeti home are unsurpassed. The Wildebeest Migration with more than a million wildebeest is probably the highlight of the Serengeti. It is a true spectacle and impressive to watch millions of wildebeest, zebras and gazelles thunder across the endless plains of the Serengeti.
Together with your private guide, you will be looking for the herds across the plains. Apart from the migratory animals, you will also get to see lots of other animals, like lions, cheetahs, leopards, and many more. Expect to be impressed by the natural beauty of Africa’s most famous park.
If you like to watch wildlife from another perspective, we recommend you to go on a balloon safari. It is an amazing experience to drift silently above the plains with herds of wildlife. Overnight at Tanzania Bush Camps on full board.
Day 4: Tanzania Bush Camps Central Serengeti, Seronera.
Breakfast. A full day of wildlife viewing in Serengeti. Dinner and overnight at Tanzania Bush Camps.
Day 5: Country Lodge Karatu, Ngorongoro Region.
Early morning you drive to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. The road leads you over the Great Rift Valley, through the crater forest, to the striking Ngorongoro Crater. This collapsed volcano is the main feature of the area and creates a unique ecosystem with a wide variety of vegetation. Enjoy the beautiful colours of the landscapes and the diversity of animals.
The crater is home to the highest concentration of wildlife in Africa and is choked with elephants, lions, buffaloes, hippos and even the rare black rhino. This is one of the best places to spot all of the Big Five. The views from the crater rim over the crater floor are incredible. Because of its natural beauty, the Ngorongoro Crater is chosen as one of Africa’s Seven Natural Wonders. There is a range of activities to do in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, like visiting a Maasai village. Overnight at Country Lodge Karatu on full board.
Day 6: Sangaiwe Tented Lodge, Tarangire National Park.
Today you depart after breakfast to Tarangire National Park for a full day game drive. Since this is one of the less known parks in Tanzania, it still has an authentic safari atmosphere. The hilly landscape scattered with grand Baobab trees against the blue sky is breath-taking. Witness the world’s largest concentration of elephants. Herds of up to 300 elephants can be seen around the Tarangire River, drinking or enjoying a mud bath. Apart from elephants, Tarangire is a paradise for bird lovers. In the area around these swamps, you can also see lions, leopards, cheetahs and even tree-climbing pythons. Overnight at Sangaiwe Tented Lodge on full board.
Day 7: Tarangire National Park, out.
After breakfast, you continue with game drive to our final destination on this epic safari at Tarangire National Park with packed lunch, your Guide will point out the fascinating way elephants have of communicating with subtle interactions. Late afternoon drives back to Arusha/Kilimanjaro and drop off at the Airport or at the hotel.
