You will kick-start your day after a delicious breakfast, by about 8AM. The destination for today is the Ndutu region which is a 3hr drive from your accommodation in Karatu. After about an hour commencing the drive, you will enter the Ngorongoro Conservation Area (Ngorongoro) where you will notice the landscape changing from hilly forests to plain and green grasslands as you drive further.
Once you reach Ndutu you will begin your day game drive with a convenient stop for your picnic lunch. Sweeping grasslands of the Ndutu cover the region which gradually fade into the Serengeti. Ndutu forms a part of the route for the annual migration of more than 2 million wildebeests and thousands of zebra, antelope and gazelle. During game drives at the right season between December and April, you will be able to see the fertile plains turn into calving grounds and nursery for the great migration. The calving season attracts hordes of predators preying on vulnerable young wildebeest. Crested with Ndutu lake and Lake Masek, these waterholes offer plenty of wildlife game during the dry season. The Ndutu is also the home ground for 6 species of big cats – leopard, lion, cheetah, caracal, serval and wildcat.
Breakfast included as part of your safari.
Picnic lunch provided during the game drive in Ndutu Area.
After the game drive, you will head towards your choice of accommodation, where a freshly prepared dinner awaits you.

Today is the first of two full days of game drives on these grasslands and acacia forests. During the migration season, you won’t have to look long or hard to spot the uncountable wildebeests and their young populating these savannahs. The same is true for the big cats that prowl these fields – lions, leopards, cheetahs, hyenas, caracal, serval, and African wildcats. They too are attracted to the vulnerable new-borns as prey for themselves and for their own newly born young. What follows is a life-and-death struggle between the animal mothers protecting their young and the predators seeking their own survival. The emotions that can arise during this wildlife drama add to this unforgettable spectacle.

Posted on Tripadvisor MknVerified Wonderful Experience with their hospitality My wife and I had a truly wonderful time in Northern Tanzania! Our tour guide Joshua was really knowledgeable and passionate about the animals and nature. Also, he was also very friendly and hospitable. He always tried hard to find animals, and we could see a lot of rare animals which made us satisfied very much. The tour was well-organised. We were impressed that they prepared hot meals and delicious coffee for us at each lunch, while most of agencies just provided simple lunch boxes. When booking, they also gave us quick response and enough information, which helped us a lot.We highly recommend Utopia for your safari tour and we’ll be sure to use them next time!Posted on Tripadvisor Tourist527060Verified Wonderful time, wonderful nature and animals, wonderful people The safari tour with Utopia company was simply great. Utopia Safaris did an amazing job ensuring that our trip was seamless from the time we arrived in Tanzania until leaving. Every detail was taken care of including our lodging, transportation, and all of our meals. On the safari portion of our trip, our tour guides Ex and Joshua went above and beyond to make sure we had the best experience possible. They were extremely knowledgeable and were willing to teach us about the animals, plants, and habitats we encountered. On the beach portion of our trip, we had amazing excursions! I am truly grateful to have been able to experience Tanzania for the first time, and I consider myself lucky to have taken this trip with Utopia Safaris. Saving the best detail for last: Ex and Joshua took the most amazing photos and shared them with us. Hakuna Matata!Posted on Tripadvisor Nyrva CVerified Amazing Safari Our safari experience with Utopia Safari was outstanding. Our guide Joshua picked us up from Kilimanjaro airport and from there to Arusha, Lake Manyara National Park, Ngorongoro Crater, and Serengeti. During the 5 day safari, our guides Exhaud and Joshua made sure our every needs were met. They made sure our accommodations were top notch, from the hotel in Mt Maura to the bush camp in the Serengeti. During Safari, they made sure we were fully immersed and their knowledge of wildlife and plant life is so impressive. We saw ALL the big 5. The highlight of our trip was seeing the great migration, not just once but multiple times. During one of the migrations, we were able to witness a crocodile attack a wildebeest and the wildebeest’s will to live by escaping the killer jaws of the crocodile. We could not believe we were experiencing Nat Geo live. In addition, Exhaud and Joshua captured everything with such fabulous pictures and videos. If you are planning to go safari, Utopia Safari will give you the best experience. I highly recommend them.Posted on Tripadvisor Richon SVerified Best Safari ever!!!! I went on a 5 day safari from Ngorongoro crater to the Serengeti with our tour guide Joshua. He was so knowledgeable about the wildlife and flora. We truly enjoyed the Serengeti camp as well. 10/10 recommend this company for your next Safari!Posted on Tripadvisor bernard kVerified Safari- Kenya/ Tanzania We did a 2 weeks Safari in Kenya and Tanzania. It included Amboseli, Serengeti, Masai Mara, Ngorongoro and Ndutu. To say this was a trip of a life time is an understatement !!!The trip was extremely well planned and executed by Utopia travels. From the time we landed in Nairobi to the time we boarded our flight back to NYC very detail was looked into. The lodging recommended and we stayed at starting from tree top houses to migration camps was 5 star level. Our guide Exhaud was extrenely knowledgeable. We got to see not only the ‘big 5’, and the Mara River crossing which was the highlight but so much more than what we thought was possible. Exhaud went above and beyond to make this the best holiday ever for us and our kids (13 and 10years). We were in awe of vast breath of knowledge he had which he readily shared with us. The kids learnt so much about wild life, geography, people and culture from him. Exahdu was always there for us with his kind, funny, gentle and caring ways and made sure we had the best animal experiences and the most comfortable stays.A big shout out to our ‘Ernest’ who took the most amazing photos and did a wonderful job with a personalized video for us. We were able to be fully engrossed in nature whilst Ernest did all the ‘clicking’ for us.We are so very satisfied and also feel blessed that we were able to do this amazing journey with this wonderful tour company and guides and highly recommend to anyone looking to experience a ‘one of a kind’ Safari.Posted on Tripadvisor Dreamer16168688575Verified Family safari I took my 1-year-old and 5-year-old on a four-night safari to Tarangire, Serengeti and Ngorogoro. Luckily I could see all the animals I wanted to see. We stayed in a camp inside the Serengeti for two days, and it was comfortable for families with children. Binoculars are available for rent. This time I used the driver's personal camera and was able to take pictures of distant animals. The road trip was long and tiring for a 1 year old, but the 5 year old was excited, so I recommend it!
